Room installation

oversized poker cards, perspex, wood glue, construction foam

Photos: Jonathan Joosten

Poker cards, a traditional element of gambling and the epitome of chance and fate, are transformed into an architectural structure of an oversized card column in the „Stroke of Luck“ installation. The card column reflects the interdependent relationship within the property market - a complex web of speculation, value and risk. Each card, carefully positioned, bears the weight of the others, an allegory of fragility. The installation invites us to reflect on the illusions of stability and the randomness of success.

An hour before the vernissage, the card column collapsed. Visitors were able to see the previous state on a small photograph nailed to the wall.

This work was presented at the group exhibition UNREAL ESTATE in Bucharest.
