The exhibition “Mimis Kratzstudio” takes up a wide variety of visual habits from everyday life and is reminiscent of well-known places in its presentation, but attempts to do so only as a foundation stone or formal trail and not to illustrate said spaces. Scratching can be understood metaphorically - for example as an attempt to go beneath the surface, to question, or to free oneself from something. “Scratching” is a direct, physical action that can be both pleasant and irritating.
In addition to the thematic exploration, various works were also created through formal material discoveries. The otherwise flat scratching mats, which actually come from an agricultural context, experience a transformation in the scratching studio and are sculpturally translated and thus seemingly misappropriated.
