Sculpture with sound

Metal, thistles

Photos: Tobias Zisterer

Thistles are in the penumbra. They are wild plants, unspectacular plants that grow unintentionally by the wayside and are overlooked. The white cardboard bristles hang from the ceiling in an apparently floating voluminous cone, which is based on a supporting wire construction. A fragile architecture that nevertheless seems eerily massive. Inside, a voice whispers the words "destroyer - keeper". Calm and slow at first, then more and more nervous and faster. The words roll over each other and are finally replaced by the sound of rain. Silence.
